As a newly arrived refugee from Syria, every penny is precious — but it’s either buy packages of pita and olives or watch his kids go hungry.

Al Kafri and his family are among the hundreds of government-sponsored refugees staying at the Toronto Plaza Hotel as they search for more permanent housing. The upside is their food is provided by the hotel and paid for by the government…etc
