Job Description

The Syrian Canadian Foundation is looking for an experienced, passionate, and creative Project Coordinator to support the implementation of its “Vaccine Promotion for Arabic Speakers” project funded by the “Immunization Partnership Fund (IPF)”. 

The Syrian Canadian Foundation (SCF) in partnership with HCP (healthcare providers) and community partners across Canada, proposes to deliver a project consisting of multiple services to bridge the information access barrier between Arabic speakers and HCPs. 

The project’s goal is to support and provide community-based COVID-19 education, promotion, outreach and disseminate information via online and printed materials, videos, and virtual community events. and will primarily serve Arab speakers in Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations including newcomers, refugees, and low-income families.


The Project Coordinator will support with outreach via phone, WhatsApp, and social media platforms for Arabic speakers, helping clients identify their eligible vaccination period, and directing clients to informative resources.

 The Project Coordinator will support in co-hosting vaccine information sessions for the Arabic-speaking community in Ontario. Finally, and they will be responsible for the implementation of SCF’s national vaccine awareness campaign and the referral of clients in Ontario to physicians.

The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Project Manager and will be supporting all project-related activities and tasks according to the time frame of the project and following IPF reporting regulations

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as the service navigator and ensure that all questions and concerns are addressed on SCF social media platform, phone, WhatsApp
  • Responsible of producing all communication materials in English & Arabic and their distribution as per the project implementation plan
  • Co-host vaccine information sessions for the Arabic-speaking community 
  • Coordinate the daily follow up of project activities and ensure that the technical aspects of the project are running in accordance with the project’s objectives and strategies
  • Follow up with partners and monitoring of activities and performance to ensure that activities are delivered according to the project’s objectives and in compliance with SCF and funder’s regulations
  • Conduct frequent assessments and collect feedback related to project performance
  • Perform other emerging tasks requested by the project manager
  • File, document, and report work progress to Project Manager on a weekly basis
  • Contribute to the funder reports when required
  • Coordinate meetings and prepare meeting minutes when required
  • Maintain a positive and productive relationship with project stakeholders and clients


  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a humanitarian or development NGO, ideally in a similar role
  • Experience in working with vaccination campaigns / health initiatives while working with newcomers and/or refugees preferred but not mandatory
  • College or University degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or other related fields
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills, creative, and adaptable
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good time management skills 
  • Strong humanitarian commitment and ethical values
  • Fluent in English & Arabic

Work Conditions

    • Travel within the designated and surrounding areas might be required.
    • Flexible work hours might be required. 

Contract Hours: Part-time (20 hours per week)

Contract Length: 15 months (February 2022 – April 2023)

Salary: $27,300 for 15 months

Starting date: As soon as we find a suitable candidate 

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside in Ontario.
