    The Syrian Canadian Foundation in partnership with Jumpstart are looking for an experienced, passionate, and motivated Development Project Manager to oversee the planning and implementation of the first of its kind women entrepreneurs project. This position is a full-time, 6-months contract, with the possibility of renewal.

    Summary

    HER Startup (HomERun Refugee Startup) is the first of its kind entrepreneurial program, this unique program offers not only training, but also incubation, funding, mentorship opportunities, access to top investment organizations and a dedicated business consultant to help refugee women build their own startup and propel them to success.

    This is definitely not just another boring old desk job! This is a rewarding opportunity for motivated and resourceful individuals to make a real difference in the economic and social wellbeing of refugee women entrepreneurs; by working directly with communities, settlements actors, government officials, and corporates.

    The Project Manager is the primary point-person responsible for innovating, planning, executing, and delivering corporate projects on time, within budget, to achieve these important goals, the Project Manager will define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and supervise the efforts of project team members.

    Job Duties

    • Manage the entire lifecycle of the assigned project, ranging from strategic planning initiatives to tactical activities.
    • Establish a project plan, defining goals, objectives, staffing levels, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, partnerships, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
    • Plan all project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and micro-deliverables using the appropriate software tools and/or PM methods.
    • Organize project team into suitable responsibilities and guide them throughout their efforts to produce deliverables according to specification.
    • Establish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via a formal communications plan.
    • Conduct stakeholder meetings in order to solicit feedback, input, and expectations; incorporate these into project plans.
    • Produce regular reports (status, escalations, etc.) on the progress of projects; deliver these reports during regular stakeholder meetings.
    • Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget.

    Requirements

    • University degree (business background preferred)
    • Direct work experience in project management
    • Experience in non-profit and working/empowering women/refugees/visible minorities
    • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills
    • Superb creation and facilitation of meetings, feedback sessions, and briefings in order to create consensus among stakeholders
    • Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management
    • Strong knowledge of financial management, technology management, and internal controls
    • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
    • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships in the business and non-profit world
    • Familiar with IRCC reporting and iCare is an asset

    Working Conditions

    • Travel within the GTA and surrounding areas may be required
    • Flexible work hours may be required
    • 65% work remotely
