The Syrian Canadian Foundation (SCF) is looking for a talented Fund Development Manager to help us grow and sustain our work supporting refugees and newcomers across Canada.

About the Syrian Canadian Foundation (SCF): was established in 2016 to support the resettlement of Syrian refugees in Canada. Since then, it has grown into a national charitable organization dedicated to empowering refugees and newcomers from diverse backgrounds.

SCF’s mission is to help refugees and newcomers thrive in Canada through innovative, community-driven programs built on three key pillars; language training, skills development, and well-being. By working collaboratively with community members, public and private partners, and other organizations, SCF strives to ensure that everyone — regardless of their background — has the opportunity to grow, contribute, and lead.

Role Overview:

SCF is seeking an experienced, results-driven Fund Development Manager to lead our sustainability and growth strategy. The successful candidate will identify new funding streams, cultivate long-term partnerships across the public and private sectors, craft winning grant proposals with robust budgets, and support the overall sustainability of our work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a sustainable funding strategy to grow SCF’s revenue
  • Research, write, and submit tailored grant proposals to a range of funding bodies and donors
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate sponsors
  • Develop program budgets and financial narratives that inspire support
  • Track progress toward goals, report on outcomes, and identify new opportunities for funding and partnerships
  • Attend networking events and meetings to raise SCF’s profile and deepen engagement with potential supporters
  • Meet agreed-upon funding targets and unlock performance-based bonuses for successful fundraising
  • Proactively explore new revenue streams and funding trends to diversify SCF’s funding base
  • Collaborate with program and communications teams to align funding strategies with SCF’s impact and priorities
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date donor records and reports to ensure transparency and long-term sustainability

About You

  • Proven success in fundraising and grant writing, with a strong track record of secured funding
  • Skilled in building and nurturing lasting relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong financial and proposal-writing skills — you can translate program goals into funder-friendly stories and numbers
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple priorities with ease
  • Proactive and resourceful — you identify new opportunities and take initiative to pursue them
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working across departments and with external partners
  • Passionate about SCF’s mission and values — you care deeply about refugee empowerment, inclusion, and community-building

Time Commitment

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week
  • Occasional evening or weekend commitments for events and networking
  • Location: Remote/Hybrid — primarily remote, with some in-person work as needed
